Things I Can’t Live Without: Morning Walks!

Morning Walk things I can't live without

Since starting my own business, one of the best habits I’ve developed is going on a morning walk with my mam. It’s becoming something I genuinely look forward to, and now I honestly can’t imagine starting my day without it.

We head out first thing before emails, before client work, before I’ve even opened my laptop, it helps set the tone for the day.

It gives me a reason to get up, get dressed, and get moving, which is crucial when working from home and could easily lead to a day spent rolling from bed to desk without properly starting the day.

The walk itself isn’t anything fancy, it’s just a stroll around the park, occasionally along the beach and seafront. It’s our little daily ritual. Sometimes we chat, sometimes we’re both quiet and enjoy the fresh air, or sometimes we bump into friends and walk with them.

Either way, it clears my head, gives me a bit of perspective, and reminds me to slow down before the busy kicks in.

Running a business can be full-on, and it’s easy to let self-care slip down the to-do list. This simple walk, just 20-30 minutes each morning, gives me energy, clarity, and a bit of quality time with my mam, which means a lot to me.

It’s honestly one of the best parts of my day. I always come back feeling grounded and ready to tackle whatever’s ahead.

If you’re self-employed or working from home and find your days start to blur together, I recommend a walk. It doesn’t have to be anything wild, just a little movement, a bit of fresh air, and a space to breathe before the working day begins.
