Things I Can’t Live Without: Visiting Family.

I love my trips to South Africa, and it’s thanks to my aunt. She’s my favourite family member to hang out with. No offence to the rest of the family, but we have a special bond.

Every year, my mam and I get on a flight and head out there. Every time, we count the sleeps until we can catch up face-to-face.

Daily texts are lovely, nothing beats laughter over coffee, chats on the stoep, and spending quality time together.

Working remotely means I can now spend more time over there visiting my aunt.

I have made some friends through my aunt, and her friends have become mine as well. I love catching up with them while I’m over, finding out what has been going on since we last saw each other.

South Africa is breathtaking. The scenery, sunshine, and people have a magical vibe that lingers with you.

It’s more than a holiday, it’s my second home, and a reminder of what matters: time, connection, sunshine, and laughter with people I love.

I wouldn’t change it for the world.
