What Happens After You Say Yes To Working With Me?

Let’s talk about onboarding (not throwing new clients into the deep end).

When a new client signs up, the process should be smooth from the start.

Here’s the thing.

Even some seasoned solo business owners, those with five years or more experience, are still winging it when it comes to onboarding. No structure. No welcome. Just, “Great, let’s crack on.”

They have contracts, invoices are sent, and the work gets done.

But here’s what’s missing:

A proper welcome.

Clear communication.

A process that makes everyone’s life easier.

So, I’m going to show you how I onboard new clients here at Outlaw Girl Services.

Spoiler: It’s simple, thoughtful, and saves a lot of time.

Step 1. The Welcome Email.

The first thing that lands in a new client’s inbox is my welcome email. It includes:

A quick help and a “can’t wait to work with you.” Key info on how to contact me, book a call, and what to expect. A handy user guide for Outlaw Girl Services. It’s my way of saying, you’re in safe hands, let’s get going.

Step 2. Add You To My CRM.

I’ll add your details to my contact management system and tag you as a client. If I need to share updates or send client-only information, I can do it easily, without having to scroll through email threads or dig through my inbox.

Step 3. Set Up The Techy Bits.

Next, I create your Google Drive folder and add you to Toggl (my trusted time-tracking tool). Everything is in place, so we can hit the ground running.

Step 4. Connect and Celebrate!

I’ll follow you on LinkedIn and social media (now we’re working together, and it’s nice to connect). You’ll receive my monthly newsletter, The Outlaw Buzz, and a small welcome gift from me as a token of appreciation for choosing to work with me. If someone has referred you? They will receive a thank-you gift.

It’s just four steps, but they make a massive difference.

The truth is, not everyone does this. However, it works for me, and it works for my clients as well.

Your onboarding process might look different (and that’s okay!), but whatever you do, have one.

It’ll save you hours, boost your professionalism, and leave your clients feeling confident and cared for from the very start.

And who doesn’t want that?

Would you like my onboarding checklist?

Feel free to email me; I’m happy to share.
