Imagine defeating your procrastination by implementing these personalized strategies that I have used and found effective.
Clients approach me with big ideas or projects. Some are excited or concerned, while others hesitate.
We all procrastinate from time to time. My procrastination involves networking.
Big projects can often feel overwhelming due to their perceived complexity, cost, and confusion. But remember, perception is critical.
How can we keep moving forward in a stalled project?
Here are some tactics I’ve used to get results.
1. Understand what you need to know and what you don’t.
Some projects require an understanding of how things work, while others may only need a basic understanding to keep them running.
For example, could you consider setting up an email newsletter? Let someone else handle the initial setup if you feel uncomfortable setting it up in Mailchimp or Mailerlite.
If you did not build it, you can still manage it monthly.
2. Is there anything else I should know?
A project might require research, or we may already have all the information.
If you need more information, you can plan how to obtain it.
When you have everything together, look at everything. It will help you see the bigger picture and feel more confident.
3. Only seek a few opinions.
Family and friend’s support can be invaluable.
Do they know anything about the decision you are trying to make?
Procrastination can also occur when you get too much input.
4. Categorize projects.
When you take on a big project, you may feel overwhelmed.
By breaking it down, you’ll see the work in more manageable chunks, which makes it appear less daunting.
5. Remembering details is more effective if you write them down.
When I don’t write down my daily tasks, I spend hours trying to remember them.
Creating a plan will help you see the entire project at a glance, saving you time and effort.
6. Don’t worry about perfection.
Please don’t wait for work to look perfect before improving it.
I encourage you to continue to learn as you go along.
As your business evolves, so should your skills for improvement. So you’ll be able to keep up with your business needs.
When starting a project, the hardest part is getting started.
