My email list as a virtual assistant is one of my most valuable assets. I use this list to reach potential clients and build relationships. I can launch services and offers with this list.
Contrary to popular belief, many business owners need to pay more attention to the potential of their email lists. They often prioritize social media as the primary platform for business promotion.
They think they can run their business through text messages and DMs. Unfortunately, you cannot.
An email campaign is a unique tool that can significantly grow your business. It allows you to reach your audience directly, personally, and in a targeted manner.
Potential clients, often computer users, prefer the personalized and valuable content that emails can provide. A business can effectively engage with its audience and build its brand by creating helpful content, building relationships, and providing excellent customer service.
How can we do all this effectively?
It’s through your email list. What are the reasons for overlooking an email list? Regularly sending emails to friends and family seems simple. However, many people think their contacts will not appreciate it or that it will take too much time. Alternatively, they might be hesitant to ask for people’s email addresses.
Here are some things that get in the way.
1. I don’t want to bother anyone. If that’s the case, don’t. Send valuable information to help business owners manage their businesses better. Rather than being a nuisance, you’ll become a trusted advisor. Contacting doesn’t mean selling. It’s not about asking for something. The goal is to build relationships. Respect their time. Don’t ask for anything in return.
2. Worrying about other opinions. Could it be that people think you’re incredible? Could they be waiting for your email? To be true to my audience, I must remember to be true to myself. The most important thing is to trust I am doing the right thing, even if others disagree. The only person responsible for my success is me. Your readers can always unsubscribe from your newsletter.
3. Inconsistency. Email lists grow one by one. Keep this in mind every day. Ask family and friends if you can add them to your list. As you network and meet new people, it’s a good idea to ask them. Stay committed to doing this regularly and staying on track. As a result, you will build up a list of people who are interested in what you have to say.
4. The feeling you have nothing to say. You do. You are just afraid. There are so many things to write about. Put yourself in your client’s shoes and think about all the questions they may have, and write about them. It’s surprising how much others can learn from you. Also, you can build relationships with potential clients.
Don’t delay. Start building your email list now. Build your list slowly and steadily. By using social media, you can increase visibility for blog posts and content. Lastly, you could contact people directly to start a conversation.
